Gymnastics at the Y will instill a sense of confidence and strength in all participants, whether they are on our competitive gymnastics teams or in our parent-child program. Our gymnastics program offers a variety of classes and activities for boys and girls of all ages, in a fun, safe, and team-building environment.

Participants in our gymnastics program will develop strength, flexibility, and coordination and have fun doing it! Besides gaining skills, gymnastics teaches us that commitment reaps reward: we learn to trust and appreciate one another and our emphasis on caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility help us to be better leaders and supporters.

Preschool Playtime (ages 0 – 6 years)
Bring your children in for 90 minutes of parent-supervised fun in our Children’s Center. Parents must remain with children at all times. Preschool Playtime is offered during the fall, winter and spring.
This open gym time is free for Y members and $6 per family for non-members

Wigglyworms 
Kids 12-36 months. Introduction to gymnastics in an engaging and fun atmosphere with parents.

Bouncing Bears (Beginner level for ages 3-5)
A beginner class for your preschooler who’s ready to start gymnastics! This class introduces age-appropriate basic skills to improve strength, balance, and coordination.

Tumbling Teddies (Intermediate level for ages 3-5)
This class is designed for gymnasts to continue their basic gymnastics skills, as well as progress to more challenging skills. Gymnasts must be able to do forward rolls and walk forward on the beam unassisted.

Cartwheeling Cubs (Advanced level for ages 3-5)
This class is for gymnasts who want to continue their progression of gymnastics. Must be able to do strong front support and 3 casts with hips off the bar, and a basic cartwheel.

Rollers (ages 6 and up)
No experience necessary. Rollers is a beginning developmental class that will lay the foundation on which all other progressive gymnastics skills are built. 

Swingers (ages 6 and up)
Gymnast must be able to do a controlled front support roll down on bars, walk unassisted forward, backward, and sideways on beam, and a backward roll on the floor.

Kippers (ages 6 and up)
Gymnast must have graduated from Gliders & must master pull-over, kick over, underwing to a candlestick, Back hip-circle, front support to straddle sit to squat, Candlestick(High Beam) round –off, Backbend, Bridge kick over, Jump full turn, Jump forward roll (Vault

Tumbling 101 (ages 6-18)
Beginner level for motivated athletes looking to pursue cheerleading or gymnastics. Learn the basics while working to increase strength and flexibility.

Boys Tumbling/Conditioning (ages 6 and up)
Beginner & advanced class. Learn basic tumbling skills, build strength, flexibility & balance with other boys

Ninja Conditioning (ages 5 - 13)
Ninja conditioning combines coordination and agility to strengthen upper bodies and improve overall fitness and conditioning. This class is the perfect outlet for your crazy "Ninja!" Ninja is for boys/girls interested in improving their Super Powers! They will learn skills in tumbling, jumping, vaulting, and more!

Twisters Competitive Gymnastics Team (ages 5-16)
These gymnasts learn compulsory routines on Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor. This competitive team is offered at the South County Family YMCA and Mid-County Family YMCA. 

Competitive Cheerleading

YMCA Cheerleading is offered to girls and boys age 5 through 18. Cheerleaders will build self-confidence and self-esteem while developing social skills and healthy relationships with other girls. Learn the fundamentals of cheerleading including basic motions, jumps, choreography, and tumbling.
