Sign-On Bonuses

The Gateway Region YMCA is offering the following sign-on bonuses for these positions:

  • Day Camp and Camp Lakewood Counselors $100 with a $200 retention bonus after August 15 after they have worked at least 9 weeks of summer camp.
  • Lifeguards and Swim Instructors $200
  • Y Club Before and After School Enrichment Program $300-$500 depending on position and shifts worked
  • YMCA of the Ozarks Trout Lodge and Camp Lakewood Cooks, Dishwashers and Servers $500
  • Properties $1,000
  • Early Childhood Education Centers (ECEC) $2,500 with a 4-year degree and 9 credit hours in Elementary/Secondary/Early Childhood Education, $1,500 as a Child Development Associate (CDA), $1,000 with 12 credit hours in Elementary/Secondary/Early Childhood Education, $500 FT Teacher, some child care experience required.

New hires are eligible for bonuses as well as employees who have not worked for the Association for at least one year. Sign-on bonuses are paid after 90 days of continuous employment with the exception of the camp bonuses as detailed above. ECEC sign-on bonuses are paid half upon hire and the remaining half after 90 days.

Bonuses are pre-tax.

Employee Referral or Refer a Friend Bonus

During your employment, for every full- or part-time new hire that you refer, you can earn a $300 bonus.

Current Y employees can refer candidates for positions at any time during their employment.  To receive your referral bonus, first make sure that the person you are referring includes your name on their application under the section "If you were referred by a current Gateway Region YMCA Employee, please enter their name".  Next, notify your supervisor that you have referred someone that has been hired by the Y. Your supervisor will complete the Referral Bonus form for you, letting HR know your name and the name of the person that you referred. Once the person you have referred has reached 30 days of active employment we will process your bonus and pay it out on the next available paycheck.

Bonuses are pre-tax.
