Adaptive sports programs at the Y provide children and adults with disabilities the chance to play sports and participate in learning opportunities in a safe, fun atmosphere.


The Y offers many adaptive sports programs year-round including basketball, baseball, bowling, and much more!

ADAPTIVE GYMNASTICS

Programming Location:

• South County YMCA

Program Information:

Adaptive gymnastics is geared towards including people with disabilities (physical and/or intellectual) in the sport of gymnastics! Participants will learn basic floor routines, bar skills, and balance beam. All are welcome!

Program Information:

CATCH 22 SPRING MIRACLE LEAGUE

Programming Location:

• Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex

Program Information:

Join us for a spring season of Miracle League Baseball at the Miracle Field at the Chesterfield Valley Athletic Complex! Children and adults of all ages and abilities are welcome! Our Miracle League program will be a fantastic opportunity for participants to get active, engage socially, and have fun!

Please note that our competitive league is geared more towards older youth and young adults who have played baseball before and do not need one-on-one assistance on the field. Our non-competitive league is open to everyone and inclusive peer volunteer support is built into the program!


Registration: $25 Early Bird through February, $35 after March 1
Season: April 8-May 25 (competitive: Monday evenings, non-competitive: Saturday mornings)

ADAPTIVE ROCK CLIMBING

Programming Location:

• South County YMCA

Program Information:

Join us for an 8-week session of adaptive rock climbing at the South County YMCA! Children and adults of all ages and abilities are welcome! After registration, choose a one hour session on Thursday afternoons (3:30, 4:30, or 5:30). Sessions will be limited to 3-4 participants. Our adaptive rock climbing program will be a fantastic opportunity for participants to get active, engage socially, and have fun!

SUMMER ADAPTIVE BOWLING

Programming Location:

• Bowlero - Lakeside

Program Information:

Join us for an 8-week session of adaptive bowling on Wednesdays from 2:30-4:30 pm. All ages and all abilities are welcome!

SUMMER ADAPTIVE PICKLEBALL

Programming Location:

• Chesterfield YMCA

Program Information:

Join us for an 8-week season of pickleball designed to be welcoming and accessible to athletes with disabilities. The program will take place on Mondays from 3:30-4:30 pm, June 10-July 29.

ADAPTIVE FITNESS

For people in St. Louis County and St. Louis City with a documented developmental disability, the Y provides opportunities to be engaged in a number of programs. Trained staff assist and help ensure each person is able to become familiar and comfortable with programs and equipment, including cardio and group exercise, aquatics, lap swimming, strength training and a variety of other activities.
