Offered throughout the entire summer, Traditional Summer Day Camps are designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that may include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, field trips and more. Camps are themed weekly. Most camp activities are held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers are divided into groups by grade level or age.
Special Interest Camps are designed to offer activities focused on a particular interest while incorporating overall traditional Y camp principles. Camp size may be smaller and may be offered either indoors or outdoors based on the specific interest. From 9 am - noon, campers participate in their special interest camp. From noon - 4 pm, campers participate in traditional camp activities.
Arts & Humanities Camps 2024:
Our arts & humanities camps encourage personal expression and the freedom to create, and provide new experiences for kids. Creativity abounds at the Y.
Arts & Humanities camps include Baker's Dozen, Artrageous, STEAM, and Pin & Create.

Outdoor Camps 2024:
Our outdoor camps seek adventures that can be found and explored in nearby parks, outdoor fun and natural resource areas. The contact for Outdoor Rangers Camps is Child Care Director Christina DeClue,
This summer we are offering five Ranger camps for various ages.
Aquatics Camps 2024:
Aquatic camps are designed for swimmers of all levels. Your child will become comfortable in the water, increase swimming skills, practice water safety and start refining their skills while making friends and having fun!
For branches offering Water Park Hop - Campers will explore different water parks throughout the St. Louis area. The day may include some traditional activities before or after going to the waterparks. Campers are expected to be strong swimmers and able to pass a swim test.
Aquatics camps include Splash Into Summer, Water Park Hop, Pirate Week, Water Fun, and Beach Week.
Sports Camps 2024:
Campers spend their day immersed in a specific sport learning fundamental skills and then applying those skills in a game setting. The focus is on introducing and/or improving skills for each sport with emphasis on individual skill development, teamwork, and building self-confidence in an environment that encourages having fun and making friends.
Sports camps include Basketball, Sports of All Sorts, Soccer, and Backyard Sports.
Fun Club, the Y's Before & After Camp Care, is available as an add-on to all camps at an additional fee. Fun Club allows campers to arrive as early as 6:30 am and/or stay as late as 6 pm. Fun Club is available for campers ages 5-13.
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program at the South City YMCA offers teens ages 13-15 the opportunity to gain practical experience working with campers while cultivating essential skills and knowledge. The program's primary goal is to empower teens with leadership abilities that extend to their school, home, and community life.
Families interested in the CIT program should submit their applications by April 12, 2024. Once an application is received, the Camp Director will contact the applicant to arrange an interview and screening, finalizing the selection process. It's important to note that due to limited space, not all interviewed applicants will be selected.
Program Requirements:
Time Period: Minimum of 4 Weeks
Hours: 8:45 am-4 pm
Fee: $45 per week
Participants exceeding 4 weeks will not be charged for weeks 5-12.

Our goal is to provide inclusive opportunities for all community members in our programs.
