SOUTH CITY FAMILY YMCA
Camps at the Y offer kids countless opportunities to laugh, learn, lead and make lasting friendships!
Our proven programs and trained counselors deliver meaningful, memorable experiences that keep kids coming back year after year. Our 2024 schedule will be announced soon and will replace our 2023 schedule that appears below.
It’s never too early to begin thinking about summer camp!
Traditional Camp (Ages 5-13)
Traditional camp is designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, field trips, and more. Most camp activities are held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers are divided into groups by the grade level they are entering in the fall.
Registrations must be completed by the Wednesday prior to the camp start date for the week. Registrations made after this date will acquire a $10 late fee
Special Interest Camp (Ages 7-15)
Special interest camps are designed to offer activities focused on a particular interest while incorporating overall traditional Y camp principles. Camp size may be smaller and may be offered either indoors or outdoors based on the specific interest. From 9am - noon, campers participate in their special interest camp. From noon - 4 pm, campers participate in traditional camp activities.
2023 SPECIAL INTEREST CAMPS:
Arts & Humanities Camps
Our arts & humanities camps encourage personal expression and the freedom to create, and provide new experiences for kids. Creativity abounds at the Y.
Arts & Humanities camps include Baker's Dozen, Artrageous, STEAM, Rangers, and Pin & Create
Aquatics Camps
Aquatic camps are designed for swimmers of all levels. Your child will become comfortable in the water, increase swimming skills, practice water safety and receive a great start to refining skills while making friends and having fun! Activities include swim lessons, games, water safety skills and splash time.
Outdoor/Ranger Camps
Our outdoor camps seek adventures that can be found and explored in nearby parks, outdoor fun and natural resource areas.
Outdoor/Ranger camps include Rookies Rangers, Legends of the Heartland Rangers, Rollin' on the River Rangers, Sky Rangers and Extreme Rangers
Sports Camps
Campers spend their day immersed in a specific sport learning fundamental skills and then applying those skills in a game setting. The focus is on introducing and/or improving skills for each sport with emphasis on individual skill development, teamwork, and building self-confidence in an environment that encourages having fun and making friends.
Sports camps include Hoop There It Is, World Wide Sports, Sports of All Sorts, Soccer Stars, and Backyard Sports
Fun Club Before & After Camp Care (Ages 5-13)
