Healthy Lifestyles at the YMCA

Swim Lessons
Swim lessons at the Y focus on learning vital water safety skills and stroke development through a progressive swim lesson curriculum. Swimmers develop self-esteem while creating positive experiences that last a lifetime.

Water Exercise
Utilize the resistance and buoyancy of the water to improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, and flexibility. Instructors lead small groups through water choreography and resistance exercises.

Swim Team
The MAKOS Swim Team is for boys and girls ages 5-18 who want to swim competitively in a fun and positive environment.
Indoor Water Park
Indoor swimming is always in! Have fun with the family and enjoy our indoor water park.
Outdoor Pool
With a water slide, eight lap lanes, and roomy pool deck, our outdoor pool is the place to beat the heat in the summer!
Work in Aquatics
The Y offers lifeguard and swim instructor certification courses to give you the tools needed to be successful. Join our aquatics team today!
While you're increasing your heart rate, your kids can play, release some energy and make new friends in a supervised, caring environment - all free with your Y family membership.
The Y offers activities and programs for teens in a safe and welcoming environment that provide them with academic assistance, employment opportunities and other life skills, all while having fun!
Teen Leaders Club
Leaders Club is a program for teens, ages 13-18 that provides opportunities for personal and professional development. Teens plan out service projects, discuss upcoming events and trips, and vote on which types of development opportunities they would either like to attend or bring into their future meetings. Leaders elect officers on an annual basis who serve as club president, vice president, treasurer, and secretary. These officers have additional responsibilities and assist their advisor to support their peers and ensure the success of the club.
Youth and Government (YAG)
YAG provides students the opportunity to experience the democratic process and develop the leadership skills needed to become citizens of a participatory society.
Youth and Government promotes:
- An understanding of local, state, national, and international concerns
- Research, study, and debate on public issues
- Exploration of careers in public service
- Interaction with adult and youth leaders involved in decision-making processes
- An understanding of political systems and the forum they provide for the effective and peaceful resolution of issues and concerns
- Appreciation for the diversity of viewpoints on public issues and a respect for ideas, beliefs and the positions of others
- Demonstration of citizenship responsibilities and leadership roles essential to the health of a participatory democracy

Cancellation Policy
- Parties and rentals include a 50% non-refundable deposit.
- All parties must be canceled with a 2 week written notice.
- Those canceled less than 2 weeks before the party/rental will only be eligible for a 50% refund.
- If you wish to reschedule your party, we require 3 weeks written notice.
- If the YMCA cancels, we will reschedule or refund 100%.
How to Book Your Party
Reservations must be confirmed 2 weeks prior to party date. 50% non-refundable deposit plus a $100 security deposit (refundable) due at booking. You can book by calling or visiting our Welcome Center 314-932-1423.
The Y's success relies significantly on the generous volunteers who donate their time and talents to make a difference in the community.
