St. Louis, MO (Dec. 7, 2023) – The Gateway Region YMCA celebrated the newly renovated Edward Jones Family YMCA with a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning. Thanks to the generous support of the Edward Jones investment company, the $2.2 million in renovations includes expanded health and wellness services, an intergenerational lobby, an updated Child Watch area, and multiple state-of-the-art fitness studios. “The upgrades we’ve made to the Edward Jones Y as a result of this generous donation will help bridge gaps in chronic disease prevention, and bring people from all backgrounds together,” said Tim Helm, president and CEO of the Gateway Region YMCA. “We are so grateful for the support of Edward Jones to enhance our ability to provide even more programs and services that will help strengthen the Maryland Heights community.”

The full list of renovations at the Edward Jones Y include:
1. Intergenerational Lobby – which brings people together, connecting people of all
ages and backgrounds to bridge the gaps in community needs, and provides room for
informational workshops, family engagement activities, and active older adult
activities.

2. An updated Child Watch area, where parents and guardians can feel confident their
children are in a safe and nurturing environment while they workout.
3. Expanded health and wellness services, which includes new fitness equipment and
a larger gym to allow more individuals in the community struggling with high blood
pressure, diabetes and other chronic diseases to participate in prevention programs
.

Also included is a new state-of-the-art Cycling Studio, a brand-new Functional
Training Studio with turf, a Cardio Room, a new Group Exercise Room and a new
Mind and Body Studio.
