WILDWOOD FAMILY YMCA
Summer Starts with Us:
Where Every Day is Packed with Fun and Discovery!
Join us for 10 weeks of fun at Wildwood YMCA's Summer Day Camp, running from June 3-August 9! Our age-specific adventures, for kids ages 5-13, include daily activities from 9 am-4 pm, Monday through Friday—games, nature exploration, arts and crafts, and more. Add before and after camp care to extend hours. Our Counselor in Training program is for ages 14-15. Most camps will be held at LaSalle Retreat Center, 2.8 miles from the YMCA, south on Highway 109 to Rue De La Salle Drive, accessed from 109 and Old State Road. You will drop off and pick up your camper at the gymnasium. View directions here. Camps that will be held at the Y are Baking & Cake Decorating 1 & 2 and Young Chefs.
Registration is open! Sign up early to secure your child’s spot in YMCA Summer Day Camp 2024.
Offered throughout the entire summer, Traditional Day Camps are designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that may include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, and more. Camps are themed weekly. Most camp activities are held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers are divided into groups by grade level or age.
Our Arts & Humanities Camps encourage personal expression and the freedom to create, and provide new experiences for kids. Creativity abounds at the Y.
Arts & Humanities camps include Baking & Cake Decorating, Camp Happy Tails, Field Trip Frenzy, Dance & Cheer, and Young Chefs.
In Water Park Hop, campers will explore different water parks throughout the St. Louis area. The day may include some traditional activities before or after going to the waterparks. Campers are expected to be strong swimmers and able to pass a swim test.
We also offer a half-day Scuba camp.
Campers in Sports Camps spend their day immersed in a specific sport learning fundamental skills and then applying those skills in a game setting. The focus is on introducing and/or improving skills for each sport with emphasis on individual skill development, teamwork, and building self-confidence in an environment that encourages having fun and making friends.
Sports camps include All Sports, Soccer, Kickball, Hockey, Basketball, and Competitive Sports.
Fun Club, the Y's Before & After Camp Care, is available as an add-on to all camps at an additional fee. Fun Club allows campers to arrive as early as 7 am and/or stay as late as 6 pm. Fun Club is available for campers ages 5-13.
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program at the Wildwood YMCA offers teens ages 13-15 the opportunity to gain practical experience working with campers while cultivating essential skills and knowledge. The program's primary goal is to empower teens with leadership abilities that extend to their school, home, and community life.
Families interested in the CIT program should submit their applications by April 12, 2024. Once an application is received, the Camp Director will contact the applicant to arrange an interview and screening, finalizing the selection process. It's important to note that due to limited space, not all interviewed applicants will be selected.
Program Requirements:
Time Period: Minimum of 4 Weeks
Hours: 8:45 am-4 pm
Fee: $45 per week
Participants exceeding 4 weeks will not be charged for weeks 5-12.
