Jump into summer with us and discover a new adventure every day.
Summer Camp at the Y is a time for kids to explore, discover, and create in a place that encourages confidence and community.
The Monroe County YMCA offers 11 weeks of camp from May 30 to August 11 for ages 3-12. Camp hours are 9 am-4 pm. Fun Club Before & After Camp Care is available from 7am-6pm. Camps are located at the Y, unless listed otherwise on the schedule.
Contact our Camp Director, Kim Dailey.
Our trained counselors guide campers through crafts, weekly swimming, outdoor play, games, and other fun activities.
Traditional camp is designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, field trips, and more. Most camp activities are held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers are divided into groups by the grade level they are entering in the fall.
Registrations must be completed by the Wednesday prior to the camp start date for the week. Registrations made after this date will acquire a $10 late fee.
Special interest camps are designed to offer activities focused on a particular interest while incorporating overall traditional Y camp principles. Camp size may be smaller and may be offered either indoors or outdoors based on the specific interest. From 9 am - noon, campers participate in their special interest camp. From noon - 4 pm, campers participate in traditional camp activities.
Our arts & humanities camps encourage personal expression and the freedom to create, and provide new experiences for kids. Creativity abounds at the Y.

Campers spend their day immersed in a specific sport learning fundamental skills and then applying those skills in a game setting. The focus is on introducing and/or improving skills for each sport with emphasis on individual skill development, teamwork, and building self-confidence in an environment that encourages having fun and making friends.
Our outdoor camps seek adventures that can be found and explored in nearby parks, outdoor fun and natural resource areas. Gardening camp offers a fun way to learn more and become knowledgeable about gardening, the impact of insects on our lives, and the importance of healthy food choices. Plant seeds, take them home, and watch them grow! Grab your sunglasses and hats and join us for a memorable summer gardening experience!
*THIS CAMP IS OFFSITE AT: Stuckmeyer's Plants and Produce in Columbia, IL.
Fun Club, the Y's Before & After Camp Care, is available as an add-on to all camps at an additional fee. Fun Club allows campers to arrive as early as 7 am and/or stay as late as 6 pm.
Counselors in Training (CITs) receive first-hand experience working with campers and the opportunity to cultivate skills and knowledge. The goal of the program is to help teens acquire leadership skills that can be used at school, home and in the community.
Interested CIT families need to submit their application by May 1, 2023. Once an application is received, the Camp Director will contact the applicant and schedule a time for the interview and screening to finalize the selection process. *Please note that not everyone interviewed will be selected for the program* Space is limited.
