Offered throughout the entire summer, Traditional Summer Day Camps are designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that may include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, field trips and more.
Camps are themed weekly and most camp activities are held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers are divided into groups by grade level or age.
Fun Club Before & After Camp Care is available as an add-on to all camps at an additional fee. Fun Club allows campers to arrive as early as 7 am and/or stay as late as 6 pm. Fun Club is available for campers ages 5-12.
Special Interest Summer Day Camps are designed to offer activities focused on a particular interest while incorporating overall traditional Y camp principles. Camp size may be smaller and may be offered either indoors or outdoors based on the specific interest.
From 9 am-noon, campers participate in their special interest camp. From noon-4 pm, campers participate in traditional camp activities.
2024 YMCA SPECIAL INTEREST SUMMER CAMPS:
Aquatics Camps
Aquatic camps are designed for swimmers of all levels. Your child will become comfortable in the water, increase swimming skills, practice water safety and start refining their skills while making friends and having fun!
In our Water Park Hop camps, kids get to explore different water parks throughout the St. Louis area. The day may include some traditional activities before or after going to the waterparks. Campers are expected to be strong swimmers and able to pass a swim test.
Arts & Humanities Camps
Creativity abounds at the Y! Our arts & humanities camps encourage personal expression and the freedom to create and provide new experiences for kids.
Camps include Building Bricks, Artrageous, Wacky Wizards, Young Chefs, Chef Masters, Video Games, Crazy Chemistry, and Fine Arts.

Sports Camps
Campers spend their day immersed in a specific sport learning fundamental skills and then applying those skills in a game setting. The focus is on introducing and/or improving skills for each sport with emphasis on individual skill development, teamwork, and building self-confidence in an environment that encourages having fun and making friends.
Camps include Basketball, Baseball & Softball, Volleyball, Backyard Sports, and Sports of All Sorts.
Gymnastics Camps are all-things gymnastics for beginners or more experienced gymnasts. We focus on skills and discipline while never losing sight of fun!
The Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program offers teens ages 13-15 the opportunity to gain practical experience working with campers while cultivating essential skills and knowledge. The program's primary goal is to empower teens with leadership abilities that extend to their school, home, and community life.
Families interested in the CIT program should submit their applications by April 12, 2024. Once an application is received, our Camp Director will contact the applicant to arrange an interview and screening, finalizing the selection process. It's important to note that due to limited space, not all interviewed applicants will be selected.

Our goal is to provide inclusive opportunities for all community members in our programs. At the Y, we stand by the belief that everyone should have the chance to be part of the Y, irrespective of their financial means. To make this possible, we offer financial assistance to those who qualify, supported by generous contributions to our Annual Campaign. Access the application here.
