Camps at the Y offer kids countless opportunities to laugh, learn, lead and make lasting friendships!
Our proven programs and trained counselors deliver meaningful, memorable experiences that keep kids coming back year after year. Our 2024 schedule will be announced soon and will replace our 2023 schedule that appears below.

Traditional Camp (Ages 5-12)
Traditional Camp (Ages 5-12)
These camps are offered throughout the entire summer and designed for various conventional interests, including arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming, field trips, and more. Camps are themed weekly. Most camp activities are held outdoors with indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. Day campers are divided into groups by the grade level they enter in the fall.
Registrations must be completed by the Wednesday before the camp start date for the week. Registrations made after this date will acquire a $10 late fee.

Exploring Your Next Step, July 10-14
Explore your talents and develop your skills at Teen Camp! Our first week of Teen Camp will give campers the chance to explore the connection between their talents and possible career fields. Campers will go on two field trips each week, meet with career professionals, and explore STEAM and design projects. With a mix of traditional camp activities and career readiness opportunities, campers will end the week ready to explore their possibilities.
Designing Your Next Step, July 17-21
Design your future at Teen Camp! This week, campers will sketch out the future of their dreams and practice the skills to get them there. Campers will also go on two field trips each week, meet with career professionals, swim, and explore STEAM and design projects. With a mix of traditional camp activities and career readiness opportunities, campers will end the week ready to design their next step.
Building Your Next Step, July 24-28
Build your opportunities at Teen Camp! Campers this week will learn how to build a network to support their goals and career. We'll go on two field trips each week, eat at local restaurants, and meet with career professionals, all while still joining in on all the usual camp fun. With a mix of traditional camp activities and career readiness opportunities, campers will end the week ready to grow their opportunities.
Taking Your Next Step, July 31-August 4
Are you ready to impress? To land the job or meet the goal? Get ready to take your next step at Teen Camp! Campers will create a mock resume and participate in a mock interview with career professionals at the end of the week. They'll also go on two field trips, eat at local restaurants, and explore STEAM and design hobbies. With a mix of development opportunities and traditional camp activities, campers will end the week ready to take the next step.
Note: Registrations must be completed by the Wednesday prior to the camp start date for the week. Registrations made after this date will acquire a $10 late fee.
Fun Club Before & After Camp Care (Ages 5-12)
Fun Club, the Y's Before & After Camp Care, is available as an add-on to all camps at an additional fee. Fun Club allows campers to arrive as early as 6:30 am and/or stay as late as 6 pm.
Counselor in Training (Ages 13-15)
Counselor in Training (Ages 13-15)
Counselors in Training (CITs) receive first-hand experience working with campers and the opportunity to cultivate skills and knowledge. The goal of the program is to help teens acquire leadership skills that can be used at school, home and in the community.
Interested CIT families need to submit their application by May 1, 2023. Once an application is received, the Camp Director will contact the applicant and schedule a time for the interview and screening to finalize the selection process. *Please note that not everyone interviewed will be selected for the program* Space is limited.
Requirements
- Time Period: Minimum of 4 Weeks
- Hours: 8:45am-4:00pm
- Fee: $40/Week
- Individuals who participate for more than 4 weeks, will not be charged for weeks 5-11.

YMCA Camp Lakewood
At YMCA Camp Lakewood, the Y's overnight camp in Potosi, MO, kids ages 6-17 get to discover all the wonders of the outdoors while making friends and forming memories that will last a lifetime. With a 360-acre lake and more than 5,000 acres of forest-covered hills, caves, and creeks, there are many opportunities for natural exploration. Whether it's the campfires, swimming, archery, sports, canoeing, cookouts, fishing, or kayaking, every camper delights in waking up with a renewed sense of excitement for what new activities each day at camp will bring.
