It is recommended to register for any group exercise class at the YMCA beforehand to reserve your spot. You can sign up in the Y app, or by calling/stopping into your local Y!

Registration is not required for open or lap swim, but space may be limited during peak times. Please refer to the Y's pool schedule for times and availability.

Water fitness is a great way to gain muscle conditioning and cardiovascular endurance without putting stress on the joints. It's also an easy way to challenge yourself and have fun, regardless of your age or physical abilities. Water offers natural resistance, which improves a workout and helps you reach your health and fitness goals. You'll also benefit from:

  • Preventing falls and injury
  • Improve flexibility
  • Improve upper body strength
  • Injury recovery

Yes! Most of our indoor pools are open year-round. However, outdoor pools are seasonal and typically operate from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Occasionally, our pools undergo maintenance to ensure safety and cleanliness. Any closures will be communicated through your local Y's mobile app and Facebook page.

Also, be on the lookout for closures when it's storming. Pool and wet areas must be cleared and closed until 30 minutes after last evidence of thunder and lightning is present.
