The Gateway Region YMCA was founded in 1853 as a place to bring people together, provide a haven for those needing assistance and to help serve the needs of the community. We have stayed true to our roots and today, proudly serve nearly 300,000 individuals in the bi-state region and employ more than 4,000 full-time and part-time people.
To honor our legacy and continue building toward the future, our Strategic Plan serves as the guide for our decision-making. Our goals are big, and layout our three primary strategies to achieve success – commitment to culture, organizational excellence and social responsibility. The strategic priorities, initiatives and success measures in our plan serve as the blueprint for how we will be the center of the community by inspiring and promoting emotional, spiritual and physical well-being both now and in the future.
We invite you to read our plan and join us in our efforts to strengthen our community.
Volunteer at the Y!
Y volunteers support programs, assist with special events, coach, serve on committees or boards, raise funds or serve to make their communities a better place to live.
Annual Campaign
When you give to the Y, you’re doing your part to strengthen our community—and a strong community is good for everyone. Whether you’re helping a child in need attend summer camp, giving someone the assistance they need to make a healthy change in their life, or contributing to the construction of a new Y facility, your gift will let us continue to affect positive change in our region.
