The Gateway Region YMCA and SSM Health are partnering to develop a new 5,000-square-foot medical care facility located in the Chesterfield YMCA. The new facility will allow both organizations to utilize their resources and services to meet the health and wellness needs of the growing Chesterfield community.

“Core to the Y’s mission is providing essential services that help strengthen the communities where we operate,” said Tim Helm, Gateway Region YMCA President and CEO. “As the City of Chesterfield continues to experience exciting growth, collaborating with SSM Health will allow individuals to meet their healthcare needs at SSM Health and their wellness needs at the Y all in one stop.”

The new SSM Health clinic will deliver exceptional primary care for the whole family– including screenings, prevention, chronic care management, and referrals into specialty care. The clinic will also provide a specialized focus on senior care with improved access, navigation, and coordination as well as social and mental health support for older adults.

“We are excited to partner with the Gateway Region YMCA by opening a clinic in their newly renovated and expanded Chesterfield location. At SSM Health, we are focused on meeting the diverse needs of our patients, their families, and the communities we serve. This partnership and clinic will focus on care for the whole person, from wellness initiatives to expert chronic care management,” said Jeremy Fotheringham, SSM Health Regional President, St. Louis and Southern Illinois. “Our new clinic ensures expanded access to high-quality providers allowing patients and their families to receive personalized care in a convenient, patient-centric environment. We are very excited about the lift the YMCA and our incredible health care will provide for the community."

Anyone visiting the SSM Health clinic will enter the building through a separate, outside entrance separate from the Y entrance. Construction is scheduled for completion the latter half of 2025.

SSM Health employees at this location will have Y memberships so they can potentially plan treatment and recovery programs for patients who are members of the Y.

For the Y, the SSM Health partnership is part of the broader $9.2 million expansion and renovation project already underway at the Chesterfield Y. The renovated facility will reimagine the Y for the community, providing a modernized fitness and wellness experience, expanded programs for youth and adults, critical new spaces for community health and nutrition programs, and youth education and support. The expansion and renovation are set for completion in spring 2025. Click here to learn more about the project.
