WHO: Local high school students (grades 9-12) from Cardinal Ritter, Confluence Academy, Hazelwood Central, and Sumner High School, local government officials, and school officials.
WHAT: The Youth and Government (YAG) forum will be focused on providing new insights and solutions to accelerate safety in local schools. Students will have the opportunity to speak with local government and school officials, and participate in activities. In addition to the forum, there will be a resource fair and campus tours for the students.

WHY: The purpose of Youth and Government is to provide students the opportunity to experience the democratic process and develop leadership skills needed to become citizens of a participatory society. The program also promotes and understanding of local, state, national and international concerns, give students the ability to research, study, and debate public issues, explore careers in public service, and much more.
