OUR MEMBERS' TOP 10 FAVORITE GROUP FITNESS CLASSES

 

Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscle strength, range of movement and activities for daily living. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball are offered for resistance. A chair is used for seated exercises and standing support. This class can be adapted by the student depending on their fitness level and abilities. It is suitable for beginning to intermediate skill levels.

A group indoor cycling workout where you control the intensity. It’s fun, low impact and you can burn up to 675 calories a session*. With great music pumping and the group spinning as one, your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. In an RPM workout you repeatedly spin the pedals to reach your cardio peak then ease back down, keeping pace with the pack to lift your personal performance and boost your cardio fitness. RPM is a great way to build up your sense of personal achievement. You can draw on the group’s energy and find your rhythm in the music. You control your own resistance levels and speed so you can build up your fitness level over time. It’s a journey, not a race!

A high intensity class that may use all depths of the pool. Class components include vigorous cardio and strength training using water specific equipment.

Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper-body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a SilverSneakers ball is alternated with low-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is used for standing support, stretching and relaxation exercises.

MX4 is fun and dynamic total body exercise workout challenging all muscle-fiber types, energy systems and planes of motion. Each class is differentiated by changes made to exercise selection, tempo, load and intensity. A four week phase system encourages conditioning, stabilization, endurance, neuromuscular efficiency, stamina, strength, power, muscle activation, and work capacity.

The four pillars of MX4 include:
- Endurance Balance, coordination, stability and stamina
- Strength Controlled and purposeful
- Power Explosive and fast
- Cardio Smooth and rhythmic

MX4 incorporates three unique workouts per week, that is 156 lesson plans spread over 1 year.

A total body workout using a variety of quicker paced exercises held in shallow water. This class combines light aerobic workout with muscle strengthening and flexibility. Participants may use equipment to enhance workout.

A complete body conditioning class that uses the “PowerHouse” muscles of the abdomen, lower back, hips and glutes, while lengthening the muscles. Form and principles of Pilates are based on the philosophy that mind and body must work together in order to achieve overall fitness.

A strength training program where we integrate high-repetition movements, with light to moderate weights, to deliver a total body workout. Throughout this class, you’ll burn calories, build strength, and be motivated by popular music and an inspirational instructor. This class is not about building bulk; it’s about developing lean, toned muscles. You’ll use a step and weights during this program.

The ultimate dance-fitness party set to Latin and world rhythms. Before you know it, you’ll be getting fit and your energy levels will be soaring! It’s easy to do, effective and totally exhilarating.

This class will help you build strength, improve posture, flexibility and balance through combinations of breathing and postures.
