Climb to new heights on our 28-foot indoor rock wall!

The Indoor Climbing Wall is open on Tuesday and Thursday nights from 5-8 pm. Kids in Child Watch get the chance to take over from 5-5:45 pm, and the wall is open to the public (members and guests) from 6-8 pm. Parties/Rentals will also be available. Open to ages 5 and up. We offer two types of climbing at the Y. The first is vertical where the climber attempts to climb our 28 foot wall, while they are safely harnessed in. The second is bouldering where the climber moves horizontally across the wall. There are routes for all levels of experience. There are staff on hand to belay and help explain the process.

To start, everyone will need to fill out a waiver. This is done when signing up for a membership or before climbing the wall before an event.

No, we will provide harnesses, rope to climb, and belay device. You are able to bring your own harness, climbing shoes, and other climbing apparel. Climbing staff will need to inspect it before using. Helmets are required.

Please wear closed-toed shoes, comfortable and nonrestrictive clothing (e.g. exercise/athletic clothes), and avoid wearing jewelry, especially big hoop earrings, necklaces, or rings. Helmets are required.

The rock wall is open to ages 5 and up! If younger than 8 years old, a parent/guardian must be present.

With a membership to the Gateway Region YMCA, the climbing wall is free. Without a membership, two free passes are given annually. After that it is $15.00 per visit. If you are interested in a Y membership, you can register online here or stop by a local Gateway Region YMCA location.

Yes, the climbing wall is available for birthday parties! Rentals include two staff to set up the wall and belay during your event. 12-15 climbers are ideal, with a maximum limit of 20 climbers.
