Triangle Y Ranch is located on the east side of the YMCA Trout Lodge property, near the Fourche Renault Creek trail crossing. No vehicle traffic through Camp Lakewood while camp is in session. To access the Ranch by foot, follow the sidewalk from the Sunnen Center and through Camp Lakewood. To access the Ranch by vehicle, exit Trout Lodge, turn right on AA, and drive 1.2 miles. Make a right at the Camp Lakewood entrance. Parking is available.

What to Know Before You Ride
Yes. Trail and pony rides often fill up quickly, especially during weekends and holidays. We strongly recommend making a reservation at the start of your stay with us at the front desk.
Yes. Each ride has its own age, height, and weight guidelines. Please refer to the details under each ride type for the needed information.
Closed-toed shoes are required. Long pants are recommended for trail rides. Helmets and other equipment are provided at the ranch.
Absolutely! Our trail rides are guided and beginner-friendly. Our wranglers will walk you through safety and riding basics before heading out.
No. All rides are single-rider only for safety reasons.
Wranglers continuously monitor the weather. In the event of lightning, trail rides will not go on as scheduled. In the event of rain, trail rides will typically continue as scheduled unless the trails become too slick.
Absolutely! While our rides require reservations, you’re welcome to visit the barn, and we occasionally offer grooming sessions or wrangler-led horse meet-and-greets!
All guests must sign a waiver to enjoy YMCA Camp Lakewood and Trout Lodge amenities and programs. Guests must sign in at the ranch, acknowledging they understand the requirements for the trail ride and have participated in a brief orientation.
Wyatt

Wyatt is a 16-year-old gelding (male horse) and has been at our ranch since 2017! He is a unique color called a grulla. With a strong personality, Wyatt tends to be a leader of our group and is friends with Apache, a black and white mare. Fun fact: he loves to roll around and play in the pasture during his time off.
DC

DC is a 19-year-old American Quarter horse, and has been at the YMCA Ranch since February of 2013. With a unique personality, DC likes ALL of the attention. Having many friends in the horse herd, he can often be found visiting each horse to see if they're up to play! DC is also the first to the hay every morning to eat. Fun fact: He has a brand on his hip of his name: "DC"
Hawk

Hawk has been at the Y since 2015, 10 years this year! One of our tallest horses, he would be what you consider a gentle giant at 17 hands tall. Hawk LOVES attention and is friends with everybody in the pasture. Fun Fact: Hawk has a blaze and 2 white socks. On a typical ranch day, Hawk can be seen taking riders on both our Valley and Mountain rides.
