Let the Creative Juices Flow!

Doing art is a time when you can unwind and indulge your uniquely creative side, even if you don't think you have one - you might surprise yourself. No experience is necessary - you will be taught how to make the project that interests you by our dedicated Arts & Crafts staff. Get the children in on the action and bring home a memento of your time spent at Trout Lodge with a keepsake you are sure to cherish. Or make something for yourself that you can take to work and show off your skills. How about making a gift? You can do that too. Many people find crafting relaxing, where the only thing you have to worry about (other than leaving time for meals) is what colors you want to use and what project you want to do first.

There are many different projects you can enjoy! Please check Activity Schedules for arts & crafts activities available during the time of your stay. Please also make sure you understand the drying/firing requirements of each project, as they vary.

  • ceramics
  • alcohol ink projects (coasters, plates, ornaments, pendants)
  • candle projects
  • glass etching
  • mosaics
  • stepping stones
  • tie-dye
  • holiday-themed crafts and more

General Information
Although there is no advanced sign-up required, some crafts are available only at certain times when staff is scheduled to instruct and assist. To determine this or to see a full list of projects, please refer to the Activity Schedule for the time period in which you will be staying with us (up to 9 days prior). You may request alternate dates/times and we will try our best to accommodate you if staff is available. Because craft projects change throughout the year, the activity schedule is the best location to find a current list of projects.

Our projects are introductory level, however some will be more challenging than others. The quality of the finished project will vary based on the skill level of the participant. Ceramics require overnight firing and will not be ready until the following day. Overnight drying also applies to pour painting, alcohol ink projects and mosaics. Stepping stones require two days.
