The Y offers 12 weeks of full-day camp, May 26 - August 14, for kids ages 5-16.

Go for GREEN 
FREE Summer Day Camp Swim Lesson Program 

As part of our drowning prevention initiative at the Carondelet Park Rec Complex, day campers will participate in our “Go for Green” program. All campers will be swim tested at the beginning of each week, during their designated swim time. If a camper doesn’t pass the swim test, they will participate in water safety classes with the goal of passing the Y swim test.

Camp hours: 9 am to 4 pm
(Fun Club 6:30 - 9 am and/or 4 - 6 pm)

Camp Discovery is designed for a wide variety of conventional interests that include arts & crafts, group games, nature exploration, swimming in our Outdoor Aquatic Center, and field trips that are split up into three groups ages 5-6, 7-8, and 9-13. Campers are typically grouped by ages they are at the time of the camp. Most camp activities will be held outdoors with possible indoor activities provided based on the day and theme. 

Members $135/week, Non-members $165/week

 

Camp hours: 9 am to 4 pm
(Fun Club 6:30 - 9 am and/or 4 - 6 pm)

Camps are designed around interests such as swimming, science, sports, cooking, arts and more! Group sizes may be smaller, and activities may be located indoors or outdoors depending on the special interest. Campers will participate in their special interest activities until noon, and then in traditional camp activities from noon to 4 pm. Camp will spend their day immersed in a specific sport learning fundamental skills and then applying those skills in a game setting. Focus is on introducing and/or improving skills for each sport with emphasis on individual skill development, teamwork, and building self-confidence in an environment that encourages having fun and making friends. Campers will participate in their special interest activities until noon, and then in traditional camp activities from noon to 4 pm. Download a copy of our Sports camp themes and descriptions.

Aquatic Camps is designed for swimmers of all levels. Your child will become comfortable in the water, increase swimming skills, practice water safety and receive a great start to refining skills while making friends and having fun! Water Park Hop members pay $170/week, Non-members fee $210/week

In continued partnership with the US National Park Service, Missouri State Parks, US Fish and Wildlife Service and Army Corps of Engineers, the Y is excited to offer 5 weeks of fun, educational camps where kids will explore nature and recreation in our Missouri parks and public lands. All programming is subject to Mother Nature’s rules (weather permitting). These camps are based at the South City Family YMCA*, from 8:30 am – 4:30 pm, end of day times may vary.

June 15 - 19; ECO Rangers, ages 7 - 13

Fun Club, the Y's Before & After Camp Care, is available as an add-on to all camps, at an additional fee. Fun Club allows campers to arrive as early as 6:30 am and stay as late as 6 pm.

Fun Club prices:
Both AM & PM care members $20/week, Non-member $30/week.

CITs are provided first-hand experience working with campers and the opportunity to cultivate skills and knowledge in the day camp setting. CITs are selected through an application and interview process. Training and a 4-week commitment are required if selected. Space is limited. Applications will be available in January 2020, and are due April 30, 2020.

Camp Meet 'n Greet

Parents of new and returning campers are highly encouraged to attend our Meet 'n Greet. Important information will be shared to ensure your camper will be prepared and have a positive first experience. Parents will also have the opportunity to meet the camp staff and ask specific questions. We encourage you to bring the family!

Camp Lakewood – Our Overnight Camp!

Take the adventure to the next level with our Camp Lakewood overnight camp. With a 360-acre lake and more than 5,000 acres of forest-covered hills, caves, creeks and more, there are many opportunities for natural exploration. Whether it's campfires, swimming, archery, climbing tower, zip line, sports, canoeing, cookouts, fishing, and kayaking every camper delights in waking up with a renewed sense of excitement as to what new activities each day at camp will bring.
